Blogtober day 18 wants 30 facts about myself… Brace yourself!
30 Facts about me…
- I don’t like spoons. The curve of a spoon against the bridge of my mouth really upsets my life. I can handle little tea spoons but anything bigger I tend to swap out for a fork. Ice cream = use a fork, pasta = knife and fork, cake = fork. Yes I am a bit of an oddball!
- I don’t like holding umbrellas. I have yet to find an umbrella with a handle/grip that I get on with. I don’t like the sensation of having to hold something high above my head. It doesn’t feel natural to me and so I’d rather get wet!
- I have to rub inanimate objects “better”. Now before you send me off in a straight jacket hear me out. If I or somebody else scrapes their nails against something, my mind conjures up an image of deep gauge marks. In order to appease my mind I simply run my hand over where it was and I see it all smoothed out in my head.
- I love the sound of car indicators. Not sure why, but the little tick tick tick as I am driving really makes me happy!
- I intensely dislike the smell of fresh cut grass. Eugh! is there anything more unpleasant?
- My favourite colour is yellow. Think Suzuki Swift Sport yellow (in fact thats my dream car!)
- I will buy a book based on the paper used. There is nothing more satisfying than holding a new book in your hand but for me it has to feel right. If I don’t get excited by the sound/feel of the pages in my hand then I will look for another.
- I have super small feet. One foot is a UK size 4 and the other is 4.5!
- I will replay a song if it is talked over and I miss my favourite part!
- My underwear has to match. If it doesn’t I don’t feel as if my life is in order.
- My favourite food is noodles, but now that I am trying to cut down on pasta I eat a lot of fish! Salmon is my absolute fave!
- I successfully climbed Kilimanjaro despite having had very little training (I would not recommend this way of doing things! Train hard!)
- My favourite wine is Malbec.
- I still have my first teddy bear – Scruff. He is in good shape and I take him on adventures with me sometimes. I took him to the summit of Kilimanjaro with me!
- I dislike the word moist a lot!
- I will always choose a hoody, regardless of the season.
- I have chronic fatigue syndrome. This hits me in waves and there is no predicting when it will happen. I am very stubborn and tend to push through most of my tired days. There does come a time however when it catches up with me and I crash hard. During these times I do take time to rest. It’s all about finding the balance!
- My favourite book is ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’. I remember reading this at school and it stuck with me ever since.
- My favourite city in the world is Nashville. I love everything about Music City!
- I am a bit obsessed with lighthouses. Byron Bay in Australia is my favourite.
- I have a girl crush on Sandra Bullock! Who doesn’t?
- Most people call me Sandy.
- My favourite Disney movie is ‘The Little Mermaid’. Prince Eric has always been the ‘dream prince’ for me!
- I have always wanted an Andrex Puppy. Those beautiful little golden labradors that paraded around on our TV screens promoting toilet paper – I’ve always wanted one!
- I have shared a stage with Elton John. Yep – this is the highlight of my life! They let the first three rows up on stage for a song and I was right there next to him.
- Another smell I dislike is lavender. Yuk!
- I have OCD. I get obsessed with things easily. Sometimes these obsessions run their course and sometimes not… 25 years of Ronan Keating and Boyzone (just saying!)
- I like to sleep furthest away from the door. I prefer feeling closed in and secure. Odd…
- I don’t like horror films. So don’t invite me to your scary halloween movie fest sleepover! My friend Kirsty was fiend for horror movies and I would sit there with my hands over my face for the most part whilst she ridiculed for being a baby. The ‘scariest’ I’ll go to is probably the ‘Friday 13th Halloween’ movies. Even then… it’s not my thing. Lets watch a good romance instead!
- I love marmite. I’ve been known to have egg and marmite sandwiches. Bacon, egg, marmite and cheese. The combinations of that wonderful flavouring are endless…
I can’t believe I managed to think of 30 facts about myself. It took some brain power I must admit. I’d love to hear some facts about you guys – why don’t you give me 3 facts about yourself in the comments?!
