I’m too excited!

October 13, 2019 By: Diary of a Soul Searchercomment

Today I am asked to write about something I am excited by. Well I am excited to be going home this weekend!

If you read the post relating to my recent last minute trip home you’ll understand why I didn’t get much of a chance to relax or socialise. Lucky for me I always had the intention of flying home for three weeks in order to see friends and family as it’s been so long. I cannot actually believe that I will be catching up with people I haven’t seen for nearly fifteen months!!

So what about my trip home am I looking forward to?

It’s the little things in life

Bonfire Night

Oh my heart has yearned for a UK bonfire night with friends for what seems the longest of times. It’s my favourite holiday of the year and I am excited to be going to the Alexander Palace Fireworks Festival. They have a German Bier Festival and an Elton John tribute act happening – what’s not to love?

Black Forest Hot Chocolate

It has come to my attention, (thank Millsy), that the season is now upon us for the Costa Coffee ‘Black Forest and Cream Hot Chocolate’ to be back on the menu. I don’t even need to say anymore!

Live Music

Well you all know that music is my life! I have managed to slot a couple of gigs into my visit – the first one being Boyzone. This one excites and saddens me. I genuinely thought Australia was my goodbye to this band – my ugly crying at my last show would’ve shown that. It seems, however, that I get to do it all over again (my poor heart!) the way it was always meant to be. I get to see Boyzone on their final ever show surrounded by the friends who have lived the journey with me. No apologies for the ugly crying – it’s going to be a beautiful end.

My second gig is the day after Boyzone – so I will need cheering up right? It was a last minute purchase a few days ago but one I am super stoked for. Charles Esten, (our loveable Deacon from Nashville), is back for a second UK tour. Having missed his first one I was gutted to be missing another but as luck would have it I spied some late release tickets for the beautiful Royal Albert Hall in London and the rest is history! Now I just need to find somebody to join me…

Bar & Wok

Bar & Wok is my favourite place to eat in Cheltenham. The food quality and standard of service is always high. I cannot wait to catch up with friends over a serving of calamari and noodles!!

Boxhill

Oh to be back in my happy place where I can sit and contemplate life in such beautiful surroundings!

Cadbury’s Chocolate Orange Twirl

As I am a lover of all things chocolate orange it is a an exciting development that they have released a new edition. I’ve missed me some Cadburys in my life!

Marmite

I have been without Marmite in my life for quite some time now. The excitement I feel about lashings of the black stuff on toast is unreal! I do also mean good old fashioned original Marmite – not the disgusting creation my good friend Sarah deigned to rave about all over insta. Good lord who decided on peanut butter marmite?

Friends and Family

This is what I am most excited for! To see my friends and family and catch-up with what’s been happening in their lives. I will never have as much fun as when I am with my own ‘tribe’. The people who know me back to front, inside and out. I can’t wait to share in-jokes and crazy antics with everybody again!

Where it all makes sense

To not have to convert what I am spending mentally into pounds will be bliss. I won’t have to worry about memorising pubic transport routes because I know most of them like the back of my hand. The lingo of every day items will flow naturally without the need for research: ‘Thongs and Jandals’ will simply be just ‘flip-flops and sandals’. Ah… I feel calm already!

So I’ll see you soon UK – I absolutely cannot wait!!!
