Blogtober day 16 asks “what do I miss? and there is one thing that instantly springs to mind. I miss handwritten letters delivered via good old fashioned ‘snail mail’!
This generation have probably never heard the term ‘snail mail’ but it refers to letters carried by conventional postal services i.e. the local postman! There was a time during my younger years when I would receive letters and parcels weekly because I had at least four penpals!
Being a self proclaimed stationery addict I find there is nothing more satisfying than putting pen to paper. I have snubbed the convenience of technology in favour of the written word. I write pages in my journal and painstakingly copy all of my iPhone calendar entries into a physical diary because I love doing so!
Bills, bills, bills…
All that seems to come through the letterbox nowadays are bills and circulars. With this in mind it is no surprise to find out that I miss receiving handwritten letters! To know that somebody has thought enough of you to take time to put pen to paper is a lovely feeling!
So if any of my friends would like to brighten up my day by sending me a handwritten letter whilst I am living on the other side of the world I would absolutely love it! Especially as I am sometimes a bit rubbish at keeping up-to-date and in touch with everybody via technology!
