Today’s Blogtober is all about movies. There are so many amazing movies out there in the world and I am going to tell you about ten of my favourites!
Top Gun
“Goose you big stud, take me to bed or lose me forever.”
Absolutely will NEVER get tired of watching this one. Who doesn’t love a bit of Tom Cruise playing volleyball alongside our original caped crusader Val Kilmer?
I am nervously excited for the sequel next year. I hope it lives up to expectations!
Pretty Woman
Us women all hailed ‘our queen’ when she called out the staff of posh boutique: “Big mistake, huge.”
This movie is why I keep telling myself “I want the fairytale.” The right person will absolutely overcome all obstacles to bring it to you. As you probably guessed, I am a sucker for romance!
The bodyguard
Aaahh Kevin Costner and the legend that was Whitney Houston.
I re-watched this movie not long ago and it gave me all the feels as if it were the first time I watched it. Every girls wants a guy to protect her and love her the way ‘Frank Farmer’ does. It’s just a shame that Whitney didn’t get that in real life.
Cool Runnings
“Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme.” What a legend this movie is. I have so many great memories of watching this with my brother. We are both big fans of John Candy! It’s the ultimate feel good movie that inspires us to reach for our dreams.
Love Actually
It just isn’t Christmas till you’ve seen Hugh strutting his funky stuff across the landing of Number 10!
There are so many storylines to this movie and I love them all! My favourite is probably Juliet and Mark’s. When he turns up at the door with all those signs and she runs out to give him that one and only kiss – Too cute!
E.T.
Surely there is other life out in the galaxy?! This film got me thinking about that concept from a young age. I don’t know quite what I’d do if I encountered an ‘alien’ but I like to think I’d be as welcoming as Elliott and his sister. This is one of those timeless classics that will always be around.
Short Circuit
I love all of the movies in this series. What a foreign notion it was back in the day for a robot to be created with feelings. Nowadays our ‘robots’ are so lifelike that it would be hard to tell them apart from humans!
Also, wasn’t Steve Guttenberg cute?
Armageddon
Cue ugly hysterical crying. This is just one of those ‘go to’ films when you want to have a good old cry. Now the AA (Anti-Affleck) fans would say Bruce shouldn’t have sacrificed himself for Ben but I actually love his acting in this film.
If you knew the world was ending, how would you spend your last day?
P.S. I Love You
Following on with the ‘ugly crying’ theme, this one is high up there in the weepy ranking stakes. Whilst some film adaptations have not lived up to their book origins I truly think this one has. Gerard Butler… need I say more?
The Hangover
Bradley freaking Cooper… I could watch that man all day!
I love all of the Hangover movies. Lets face it, we’ve all been there, done that and wished we could forget it! Mr Chow’s famous line “But did you die?” seems to be one that always pops up in my mind at the most inconvenient of times!
Sanka, are you dead man?
“Yeah man” – “Kiss me lucky egg.”
